Artesian Well Projectby Evalu8 Pro Start a pilot

Know every well is still flowing.

The Artesian Well Project fits each well with a small sensor unit that reports over satellite. From anywhere, you can see whether water is flowing, how much each well delivers, and which one needs a visit, often before anyone on site has had time to report it.

No mobile signal or wifi needed at the well. Built on Evalu8 Pro, the monitoring platform from the team behind it.

Most wells are checked by someone travelling out to them.

A well can stop for weeks before anyone who can fix it hears about it. Many are beyond mobile coverage, so the only way to know is to go and look.

People go back to unsafe water

When a community’s well fails, families return to the old source while the news slowly travels to whoever funds the repairs.

Visits go to the wrong places

Teams drive out to wells that are fine, and miss the ones that are not. Every trip is planned from guesswork.

The impact is hard to prove

Funders, boards and regulators want to know the water is still flowing. Without readings, the answer is a story, not a record.

A unit on the well, a link to the sky, and a screen that watches all of them.

  1. STEP 1

We fit a sensor unit to the well

Hardware designed for the well head and fitted to its pipework. It measures the flow, along with the readings your wells need, such as pressure or water level, and runs on its own power.

  2. STEP 2

    It reports by satellite

Readings go up through a low-power satellite link, so the unit works wherever it can see the sky. If the link is blocked for a while, the unit keeps its readings and sends them when it can.

  3. STEP 3

    Evalu8 Pro watches every well

Each reading lands in Evalu8 Pro. You see every well on one screen, get an alert when one stops or goes quiet, and send the right team with the history in hand.

See which wells are working, and which need a visit.

Every well has its own page, with live status, daily litres and its full history. The overview shows the whole programme at a glance.

  • Is it flowing?

Live status for every well, from its latest reading, with the time it last reported.

  • How much water

Litres per day, per week and per year, for one well or added up across a community, a region or a whole programme.

  • Alerts when it matters

No flow, or a unit that has gone quiet, raises an alert by itself, and the alert clears when the well recovers.

  • Likely causes, not just alarms

When a well’s flow falls away, Evalu8 Pro weighs its recent readings, its pressure and its neighbours, and suggests why for your team to confirm.

  • Numbers to share

Water delivered and uptime for each well, project or funder, on the dashboard and through the API, with the readings behind every figure.

The screen shows example wells and figures.

Problems spotted before the water stops.

A blocked pipe, a leak or slowly falling pressure shows up in the readings days before a well runs dry. Evalu8 Pro watches the trend, not just the limit.

A likely cause, with its reasons

When a well starts to drift, Evalu8 Pro looks at the evidence together: how fast the flow is falling, what the pressure is doing, and whether neighbouring wells are changing too. It names the likely cause, and the reasons, before anyone sets off.

Your team confirms or corrects it in one click. Every answer is kept with the readings behind it, so the suggestions get sharper with every visit, and your own history becomes the data for predicting which wells need a visit next.

  • Wellhead pressure up 9%: water is backing up
  • Neighbouring wells unchanged, so the source is fine

Proof a repair worked

After a visit, set a check on the well: is flow back above 1 litre a minute within 48 hours? Evalu8 Pro checks each reading as it arrives, and marks the check met the moment it is, or missed if time runs out. Nobody has to remember to look again.

Anyone on the team can set one from a well’s page, or simply ask: “check Well 09’s battery is back above 12.4 volts by this time tomorrow.”

Water charities and NGOs

You have funded the well. Now you can keep it working, and show your supporters that it is.

  • Fix wells sooner. Repair teams see a failure on screen the day it happens, not when word reaches the office.
  • Plan visits from evidence. Send people where they are needed, with each well’s history and likely fault before they set off.
  • Show donors the water. Litres delivered and uptime, well by well, for reports and campaign updates.

Commercial operations

When water stops, so does the work that depends on it. Find out from a reading, not from the people waiting for it.

  • Less downtime. An alert as soon as a well stops, and a likely cause when its flow starts to fall away.
  • Remote sites covered. Wells far from any network report the same way as the ones next door.
  • Records kept for you. Volumes drawn from each well over any period, for abstraction returns and audits.

Built on Evalu8 Pro.

Evalu8 Pro is a platform that builds its screens, alerts and reports from a plain description of what you look after. For the Artesian Well Project, that description is your wells: where they are, who they serve, and what each one should deliver.

Your programme can grow beyond the wells. Add repair visits, technicians, communities or funders to the description, and they appear on every screen at once. Your data stays yours, with an API and exports for the systems you already use.

It watches, alerts and advises. Where a well has a valve or pump controller, it only sends a change a person has approved, the controller keeps its own safety limits, and nothing on site depends on it to keep running.

HOW A WELL IS DESCRIBED · EXAMPLE

A well serves a community or a site, and is known by its well_id.

A sensor unit is fitted to a well. It reports flow in L/min and pressure in bar, by satellite.

Raise an alert if a well’s flow falls below 0.2 L/min, or its unit goes quiet for 24 hours.

Add up litres delivered per well, per community and per programme.

A repair visit belongs to a well. After one, check that flow returns within 48 hours.

Questions

Do the wells need mobile coverage or wifi?
No. The unit reports by satellite, so it works wherever it can see the sky. Nobody on site needs to do anything to send the readings.
What happens if the satellite link drops?
The unit keeps its readings and sends them when the link is back, and Evalu8 Pro puts late readings in their proper place. If a unit stays quiet for longer than you allow, it raises an alert.
What does the unit measure?
Flow, first of all. Pressure, water level or water quality can be added where your wells need them, and the unit reports its own battery too.
We already have loggers. Can we use them?
Yes. Any logger or gateway that can send its readings over the internet can post them to Evalu8 Pro, and a telemetry provider with an API can be connected directly.
Who owns the data?
You do. Download the whole description of your wells at any time, and read every well, reading and repair through the API.
Can we start small?
Yes. Most programmes start with a pilot on a handful of wells, then add wells, regions and partners to the same account as they grow.
